Event Information

Film Society and Denver Arts & Venues announce the lineup for the 2014 edition of Film on the Rocks (FOTR). Presented by Pepsi, the 15th season includes eight events throughout the summer featuring two tribute screenings, a 15th anniversary screening of FIGHT CLUB and more. Each film is preceded by a live concert. The 2014 season will also introduce Comedy Works’ Sam Tallent as the official host of Film on the Rocks.

The 15th season of Film on the Rocks will kick off Tuesday, June 3 with a tribute to the late Harold Ramis and a screening of comedy classic, CADDYSHACK. The Denver Film Society will commemorate its 15th year with a 15th anniversary screening of FIGHT CLUB (Tuesday, June 10). THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS will screen on Tuesday, July 1, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the late Paul Walker’s global nonprofit, Reach Out WorldWide. The summer series will conclude on Tuesday, September 2 with FOTRockers (Film on the Rocks fans) favorite film, THE BIG LEBOWSKI, which only screened last season for those who contributed to the successful Denver Film Society Kickstarter campaign to convert the venue to the industry standard of digital projection.

“Peak Experience” ticket packages return again this year for the ultimate Film on the Rocks experience. For each show guests can choose the VIP experience by selecting the Party Bus VIP or Trading Post Pre-Party VIP. The Party Bus VIP ticket includes food, drinks and a ride to and from the show from the Blake Street Tavern. The Trading Post Pre-Party VIP ticket includes catering by Steuben’s Food Truck. Both VIP ticket options include free food, drinks and preferred seating in the amphitheatre.

Film on the Rocks is curated and produced by the Denver Film Society on behalf of the  City and County of Denver’s Division of Arts & Venues. The program was created in 2000 with a vision to provide an affordable opportunity for the community to enjoy film and live entertainment at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The first film screened in the program was Francis Ford Coppola’s THE GODFATHER. In 2013, more than 60,000 people attended Film on the Rocks.
